Have you ever heard the cheers from a volleyball court? If not I will tell you about them and everything that goes along with it. The sport of volleyball isn’t that complex. I will tell you about the rules, the main things we need to know, and how to play it.

There are a lot of rules for volleyball. I’m going to try to cover all of them. First I will tell you the basics you need to know.

  1.  6 players on the court, 3 in the front, 3 in the back.
  2. Maximum 3 hits per side.
  3. Players may not hit the ball twice in a session.
  4. The ball may be played off the net during a volley and on a serve.
  5. It is illegal to catch, hold, or throw the ball.
  6. A player can not block or attack a serve from on or inside the 10-foot line.
  7. After the serve, front-line players may switch positions at the net.

Those are the basics you need to know.

Those are all the rules you need to know now I will tell you about the volleyball violations rules.

  1. Stepping on or across the service line.
  2. Contacting the ball illegally (lifting, carrying, throwing, etc. )
  3. Touching the net.
  4. Reaching over the net.
  5. Serving out of order.
  6. Back row player blocking.
  7. Back row player attacking.

Those are the main violation rules that you should know.

The things you need to know about volleyball are in the section. It is very interesting. The court is split into 2 sides. The net in the middle divides the 2 sides from each other. You can play 6v6, 2v2, and 3v3 for actual games.  The positions you have on the court are outside hitter, opposite, setter, middle blocker, libero, defensive specialist, and serving specialis. Each position plays a special role on the court. The outside hitter stays on the outer sides of the court and they are always on the front row. The opposite setter is in the back row across from the setter in the front row. Middle blocker is in the front row in the middle between the setter and outside hitter. They block the attacks from the other team. The libero stays playing in the back row. They are always getting the balls that are very hard to get. Defensive specialists are very good at receiving the ball from a server from the other team.  Then a serving specialist is very good at serving the ball.

The way it’s played is a very cool concept. The ref stands at the end of the net. The ref blows the whistle and that signals the server to serve the ball. After the ball is severed, the back row will receive the ball and play it. They try to get the ball to the setter. The setter will set it up to the middle or outside hitter. The hitters will tip, spike, or dump the ball to the other team. The other team will play the ball and try to get it back to the other side. The teams keep playing until that ball hits the ground. If the ball hits the ground on the other side your team will get the point. When your team gets to 25 you win the game.
